creating Watercolors
In the magazine Mother Earth News, I found a super fun article on how to create your own botanical watercolors using flowers from your garden.
How to make botanical watercolors
Materials Needed:
- Flowers ( the jury is out on whether these should be dried at all - experiment in progress)
- Empty bottles (like Gatorade bottles)
- Alum - I got mine at Runnings, in the canning section
- Gum Arabic Powder - I did have to order this online although Hobby Lobby might carry it
- A container to put your finished paint in. I bought a small fishing tackle box, like very small see photos. You can also order watercolor trays. I ordered one from Jerry's Artarama, so I will show both options in the steps.
